Sabom nim (Grandmaster) In W. Kim
Grandmaster In Wan Kim was an Authentic Martial Artist; he had over 40 years in comprehensive Martial Arts, such as Tae Kwon Do, Hap Ki Do, Gumdo, Tai Chi, Ju Do, Jiu-Jitsu, Karate, and many others. After years of experience, studying, training, and teaching he has designed his academy to be the pinnacle of the Martial Arts experience. He has left a legacy of discipline, honor, work ethic, humility, community, and traditions. His teaching style will remain as our template.
Mr. John Berrie (Lead Instructor)
Mr. Berrie studied Computer Science at the University of Cincinnati and Software Engineering at Regis University. He served in the Army for 23 years and is currently working as a Data Scientist/Software Engineer at Leidos, Inc. He has trained in Tae Kwon Do for many years and earned his Black Belt in Korea in 1993. He joined IWKMA in 2007 and has practiced Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, and Gumdo. He has earned 4th Degree Black Belts in Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido as well as Instructor Certification under Sabom nim In W. Kim.
Mr. Peter Mowitt (Lead Instructor)
Mr. Mowitt is a Bachelors graduate from the University of Florida and a retired company officer from a local fortune 500 company. He has spent 20 years studying martial arts training in Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido. Since 2011 he was under the specific training of Grandmaster In Wan Kim. He is currently a 3rd dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a 4th dan black belt in Hapkido and received Instructor Certification under Grandmaster Kim.
Mr. Rashid Wilson (Senior Instructor)
Mr. Wilson obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from USF and currently holds a full-time position as a backend web developer. He has been dedicated to honing his martial arts skills under the guidance of Sabom nim In W. Kim since 2007. In 2012, he attained the rank of 1st dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do, followed by his 2nd dan in 2014. Recently, in 2022, he accomplished his 3rd dan in Tae Kwon Do and also achieved his 2nd dan in Hapkido. Mr. Wilson remains committed to his martial arts training and actively practices Gumdo as well.
Mr. Damon Diaz (Assistant Instructor)
Mr. Diaz is currently enrolled at USF studying in the Health Sciences. Mr. Diaz Started training/working at IWKMA in 2014 and achieved his 1st dan black belt in Tae Kwon Do in October 2022.
